Former Princess

Kino is a traveler who journeys the world with her talking motorcycle, Hermes. She visits different countries for three days at a time, learning about their cultures and people before moving on. In one country, Kino meets a former princess named Leyla. Leyla is now an adult and has grey hair, but she still retains her regal bearing. She tells Kino that she was once the princess of a small kingdom, but she was overthrown in a coup d'etat. She now lives in exile, but she still hopes to one day return to her kingdom and reclaim her throne. Kino and Leyla become friends, and they travel together for a time. Leyla tells Kino about her life as a princess, and Kino tells Leyla about her travels. They learn a lot from each other, and they both grow as people. Eventually, Kino and Leyla part ways. Leyla returns to her kingdom, and Kino continues her journey. Kino never sees Leyla again, but she never forgets her. She remembers Leyla as a strong and courageous woman who never gave up on her dreams.
